A new luxury riverboat, Loy River Song, has taken to the waters of Chao Phraya River to sail between Bangkok and Thailand's ancient capital of Ayutthaya.

Launched by Loy Pela Voyages, Loy River Song offers a collection of itineraries ranging from two days/one night to four days/three nights, with round-the-clock butler service, exquisite meals prepared by a private chef and in-depth local knowledge courtesy of a resident tour guide.

Loy River Song joins Loy Dream, a two-berth century-old teak rice barge as part of luxury cruise company Loy Pela Voyages.

In keeping with the spirit of old Siam, the décor of the four-stateroom Loy River Song incorporates traditional craftsmanship and regional influences through objets d’arts, Thai silks and woven textiles alongside amenities of king-size beds, ensuite bathrooms, air-conditioning, separate his-and-her vanities and dressing tables.

A combination of King and Queen cabins, ranging in size from 20 to 30 square metres, are ideal for extended families or groups of friends travelling together.

Communal areas provide a stage for host sunrise yoga, Muay Thai demonstrations and traditional dance performances, whereas the dining room can seat up to eight pax.

A daily-changing menu features royal Thai cuisine and European dishes designed by Thai chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn of the Michelin-starred Le Du Bangkok.

Cycling excursions take guests through Bang Krachao island, also known as Bangkok's green lungs, while a series of guided excursions on foot, car or traditional long-tail boat offer travellers opportunities to immerse in the heart of old Siam as the cruise sails to UNESCO-listed Ayutthaya.

Prices for Loy River Song start at 208,250++ baht (US$6,700_) per cabin for a three-day, two-night trip. Further inquiries or reservations can be made on +66 2 476 0022 or reservations@loyelavoyages.com.
