A popular kid-cafe concept is returning to Seoul, offering 30 weekend play stops built into local parks as well as along the Hangang River from now until November 2026.

These Seoul-style kids cafes welcomed some 19,000 children last year, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The play experiences are differentiated by themes.

At the five-senses playground, the focus is on creativity and the arts, such as sand drawing and mask-making using natural materials.

The hands-on playground gives children a taste of how the working experience is like, where they become an architect, firefighter, astronaut and more for the day.

Extreme physical adventures take centrestage at the adventure playground, featuring a zip line, roller coaster and rail train.

The growth playground will install play equipment focusing on physical activity, including a sports air bounce and an Olympic experience.

Families can also participate in programmes as a unit. These include a large bubble show, water-gun fights, and treasure hunts. Caregivers may also recharge at designated rest areas.

The Seoul-style kids cafes are open from now until June, and again from September to November.

The 30 spots include eight Han River parks such as Jamwon, Yeouido and Ttukseom Han River Park; major green parks such as Seoul Botanic Park and the Green Arboretum; and neighborhood parks such as Heo Jun Neighborhood Park and Guui Park.

Children aged between four and nine-years-old need to pay 5,000 won (US$3.30) per entry. Guardians enter for free.
