WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump is suspending travel to the United States from Europe for 30 days in the fight to contain the coronavirus. The ban starts on Friday, March 14.
The travel restrictions will not apply to Great Britain, the president said.
The president said “strong but necessary action” was needed to keep new cases of the coronavirus from entering the United States.
Australian is also eyeing a ban on travellers from Europe. Health Minister Greg Hunt said the country’s health experts would be asked to review whether further travel restrictions were required on Europe “out of an abundance of caution".
