Think an expo is all about mega meetings and conventions? Not any longer at the Singapore Expo, which has transformed itself into a new social and foodie playground amid flagging demand for physical events.
The Singapore Expo & Max Atria, which offers more than 123,000 sqm of space will soon see its surrounding carpark space transformed into Singapore's largest outdoor go-kart track and biggest indoor badminton hall, and a new food village by Timbre+.
Spanning 750m and 16 corners around the expo's under-utilised carpark, the go-kart track's operations is managed by KF1, the same team in charge the Lion City's Formula 1 night race.
KF1 is also the operator for the new badminton hall with 20 courts.
Dining wise, visitors can look out for the 800-seater hipster food park Timbre+, which will be opening a foodcourt near halls 4 to 6.
Most recently, [email protected] — a pilot short-stay facility launched at the Singapore Expo earlier this year to exempt business travellers from quarantine — has also been turned into a community care facility with 660 rooms.
