Travel management company CWT is putting Asia Pacific in focus, making a major senior appointment as part of its continued investment in the region.

Hwang Cheng Meng, a 25-year veteran in the GDS and travel tech space, was recently appointed the new Head of Global Market Management & Development at CWT. Based in Singapore, he reports to Belinda Hindmarsh, CWT Senior Vice President, Head of Global Market Management & Development.

The last 20 months have impacted how business is conducted, and this has led to a recalibration of CWT’s understanding of the customers’ behaviour, processes and requirements.

Despite the different rates of infection cases and vaccination rates around the world, Hwang in his new role is keen to help enterprise clients "prepare themselves to adapt back to business normalcy and build confidence to start travelling again once international borders reopen".

With travel picking up as more borders reopen, Hwang will leverage CWT's market relevant solutions and in-region expertise to "simplify the entire journey management process" and "ensure travellers’ safety and security when traveling for business.”

Hindmarsh commented, “Our customers can rely on our expertise and support as they resume travelling and hosting in person or hybrid events. This entails among other things assistance with the modification of programme and policy requirements and ensuring the safety and security of travellers by mitigating risks while they are away from home.”
