A new Holiday Inn Resort is coming to the emerging leisure and family destination of Halong City in Vietnam, as IHG Hotels & Resorts joins hands with Ha Long Bay Hotel Joint Stock Company to develop the flagship property.

Opening in 2023, Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay will be the second Holiday Inn Resort to open in Vietnam, after Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach. The 208-key property will be part of a mixed-used development project that also features resort apartments and a retail podium.

Facilities at Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay will include three restaurants and bars, over 1,300 square metres of meeting space including a banquet hall, an adult-only infinity pool, an indoor kids' adventure pool, a fitness centre and spa.

Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay will be located along Bai Chay Road and within walking distance of Sun World theme park and a public beach. The Haiphong Cat Bi International Airport is a 50-minute drive away, while guests can take a day boat out to Halong Bay and explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Commenting on Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay, Serena Lim, Vice President, Development for South East Asia and Korea, IHG, said: “Its opening in 2023 will herald a new era of fun for the whole family in Halong City – a concept we know is in high demand and is reflected in our decision to open three Holiday Inn Resorts in the country – Ho Tram, Halong Bay and Sapa – in the next three years."

IHG is currently operating 13 hotels in Vietnam, with a pipeline of 19 hotels across seven brands in the pipeline including InterContinental Halong Bay Resort and InterContinental Residences Halong Bay in Quang Ninh province.
