A new boutique brand that was conceived by WorldHotels on the eve of the Covid-19 pandemic is making its official launch one year later.
“We announced this new collection just weeks before the world was ravaged by the Covid-19 pandemic,” said David Kong, president and CEO of WorldHotels. “Despite the tremendous challenges that our hotels and industry have faced over the last year, Crafted Collection is quickly becoming one of the most authentic, daring and spirited collections of independent hotels around the globe.”
Properties flying the Crafted flag exude “a strong personality”, WorldHotels' recently appointed Asia Pacific managing director, Olivier Berrivin, told Travel Weekly Asia in a recent interview. These lifestyle properties typically capture the spirit of the destination they are located in or exhibiting creativity and ingenuity by way of its design, F&B or service.
WorldHotels Crafted Collection has already assembled its first hotels in key markets across the globe, including the ACME Hotel Company in Chicago, Illinois; Hotel Bijou in San Francisco, California; La Casa del Zorro in Borrego Springs, California; and Warwick Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the US.
In Europe, the Crafted Collection comprises The Vault Hotel in Helsingborg, Sweden; Hotel Haarhuis in Arnhem, Netherlands; and ODSweet Duomo in Milan, Italy.
Asia is expected to fly the Crafted flag soon as several properties are currently undergoing negotiations, according to Berrivin.
