The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) has successfully completed its inaugural Penang Virtual Roadshow to China 2021 (PVRTC 2021), which connected 92 buyers with 26 local exhibitors over 311 video meetings.

Of these video sessions, 209 were pre-scheduled appointments while the other 102 were 'walk-ins'. A total of 88 trade visitors also joined the online event, which focused on China's top tier-cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

PVRTC 2021 also hosted participating buyers and exhibitors at daily virtual forums, which gathered travel and business events leaders from China and Penang to discuss future meeting trends in the corporate and association sectors.

Forum 1 touched on 'International Safe Travel Insurance Cooperation', Forum 2 on 'Post Covid-19 Trends and Needs of the China Incentive Market', while Forum 3 focused on 'Changes of Corporate Meetings & Incentive industry, Association Meeting Markets'.

Panelists included representatives from Chinese health giant Infinitus China; PCO and DMC, China Star; China Business Event Industry Committee; International Mountain Tourism Alliance; Small and Medium Enterprises Association Malaysia; Insurance Association of China; China Civil Airports Association; as well as International SOS.

PVRTC 2021 also included virtual site inspections at key Penang locations, such as the Peranakan Mansion.
