Farmers in selfie hotspot the Italian Dolomites have had enough of travel influencers traipsing across their fields to capture the perfect shot of the mountain ranges.

In response to the growing number of visitors, local farmers have erected turnstiles, where tourists must pay five euros (nearly US$6) to access the most popular “Instagrammable” spots,

Photos on social media that show queues of up to 4,000 people a day have not deterred people from visiting the region. Quite the opposite,

“People go where everyone else goes. We’re sheep,” one farmer told the BBC. "So many people come through here every day, everyone goes through our properties and leaves trash.”

According to the BBC, Italian law mandates free access to natural parks, such as the Alps and Dolomites, but the landowners who set up the turnstiles have yet to receive any official reprimand  from authorities.
