Carnival Corp. CEO Josh Weinstein has been appointed the new chairman for the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), succeeding Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty in the role.

In his two-year term for 2026-2027, Weinstein will head CLIA’s Global Executive Committee, supporting president and CEO Bud Darr in shaping the association’s priorities and strategy setting, such as advancing the industry's safe operations, responsible growth, and constructive engagement with governments, ports, and destinations worldwide.

"Delivering extraordinary cruise experiences depends on a sustained focus on safe, reliable operations and effective coordination across the sector,” said Weinstein.

“As we build for the future, the industry will continue to demonstrate its commitment to responsible growth, achieving our greenhouse gas reduction short-term goals and long-term ambitions, deepening relationships with our ports and destination partners, investing in workforce development, and contributing positively to the communities we serve."
