On the back of growing interest in Australia, Tourism Australia has launched its Aussie Specialist Program (ASP) in Vietnam to showcase the country as holiday and MICE destination.

The Aussie Specialist Program is Tourism Australia’s global frontline travel seller training programme that seeks to provide international travel sellers the knowledge and skills to sell Australia more effectively.

The launch events on 25 and 27 November in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi target Vietnamese product managers, travel planners and agency frontline staff from 91 companies, to equip Vietnam’s travel trade with product knowledge and confidence to meet this surging demand.

Destination showcases from five participating State Tourism Organisations – Destination New South Wales, South Australia Tourism Commission, Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Western Australia and Visit Victoria.

As of year-ending September 2025, Vietnam stands as one of Australia’s strongest growth markets for total visitor arrivals, which are now 37% greater than the same period of 2019.

“Vietnam has historically been an important partner for Australia, enjoying strong economic, education, and cultural ties. Now, it is rapidly becoming one of our most important emerging markets, evidenced by its 37% growth in visitor arrivals since 2019,” said Tourism Australia Regional general manager for South and Southeast Asia Jennifer Doig.

Meanwhile, Tourism Australia has also announced the appointment of Junnie Tran as the business development manager for Southeast Asia. She is tasked to drive the growth strategy for Vietnam, managing the organisation’s relationships with trade partners and launching its ASP platform in Vietnamese.
