The Association of Indonesian Travel Agents (ASTINDO) has concluded the ASTINDO Nusantara Travel Exchange (ANTX) 2026, a B2B platform designed to bring tourism stakeholders together to strengthen collaboration, expand business networks and promote Indonesia’s tourism destinations.

Opening the event, which took place 18 May at Grand Saudi Jaya Hotel Jakarta, ASTINDO president Pauline Suharno stressed the importance of industry synergy amid global geopolitical uncertainty and uneven economic growth.

She said travel agents must continue to stay creative, flexible, adaptive and resilient as travellers remain keen to travel, albeit with evolving expectations around service, facilities and budgets.

Suharno noted that destinations worldwide are increasingly focusing on “quality over quantity”, targeting niche sectors such as gastronomy, adventure, wellness and MICE — areas where Indonesia holds strong potential.

“Our challenge now is how to package and promote these strengths effectively,” she said.

Heben Ezer, ASTINDO vice chairman for inbound and domestic tours, described ANTX 2026 as an important platform for forging partnerships and developing new tourism products.

The event also featured tabletop business matching sessions, networking opportunities and presentations from strategic partners including Easy Link and IATA. More than 180 travel agents attended the programme.

ASTINDO secretary-general Jeffry Darjanto said the association invited official IATA representatives to speak at the event to help agents obtain accurate information directly from the organisation, amid concerns over unofficial parties offering IATA accreditation services.

During ANTX 2026, ASTINDO also signed memorandums of understanding with El John Media Group and PT Gapura Angkasa to strengthen tourism collaboration in Indonesia.
