Bangkok has a new edgy hotel on the block with the opening of BWH Hotels’ Aiden Surawong Bangkok, a stylish boutique hotel set to make a mark in a culture-rich part of Thailand’s capital city.
The opening marks the debut of the design-led Aiden brand in Southeast Asia.
Situated on Surawong Road, the 77-room and suites property arrives in an historic urban area which includes century-old Neilson Hays Library, the Bangkok Folk Museum, and the flagship store of silk merchant Jim Thompson – with all three located along the same street as the hotel.
Aiden Surawong Bangkok’s location, close to subway stations, is a hop and a skip from Silom, with its vibrant night market; Yaowarat, Bangkok’s Chinatown; and the Bang Rak riverside district.
Jewellery workshop turned boutique hotel
Aiden Surawong Bangkok’s transformation from a former jewellery workshop is reflected in the hotel’s imagery of precious gemstones.
Evoking the spirit of the 1920s, travellers will enter into the glamour of old Hollywood with a Gatsby-like art deco design, connected social areas and Instagrammable spaces.
“Travellers are seeking more than a gateway; they are looking for connection and lifestyle in dynamic destinations – it’s about meaningful moments in local neighbourhoods,” said Olivier Berrivin, VP – APAC, BWH Hotels.
He added, “With its blend of historical charm and modern creativity, Bangkok is the perfect place to introduce Aiden to the region.”

Art deco gem meets modern chic
Facilities include the Gems Pool with skyline views, fitness centre, and Club Ruby restaurant which transitions from a casual morning café to an all-day dining venue and a bar for after-work drinks.
The Garden by Aiden is a laid-back social space for post-work hangouts and private gatherings.
With the opening of Aiden Surawong Bangkok, BWH Hotels – which comprises WorldHotels, Best Western Hotels and Resorts and SureStay Hotels – now operates 17 properties in the Greater Bangkok region, making it one of the city’s leading hotel operators.
