Sponge Bob, the world’s favourite yellow and enthusiastic sea sponge, is heading to Oman.

Luxury real estate developer Dar Global has unveiled plans for a Nickelodeon-themed hotel at AIDA Oman, a 3.5 million sqm golf and lifestyle destination overlooking the Gulf of Oman in Muscat’s Yiti area.

Located 130m above sea level, the all-inclusive, clifftop hotel will offer 120 themed luxury suites and family rooms, ranging from one-bedroom units to three-bedroom residences.

Interiors will lean into bold colours and playful details inspired by Nickelodeon’s most recognisable franchises, including SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Amenities include the Aqua Nick waterpark, offering slides and splash zones, themed dining, game shows and character appearances, as well as Club Nick for kids.

Construction on the mixed-use development began in late 2023, with phase one scheduled to be completed by 2027.

The Oman hotel joins existing Nickelodeon resorts in Turkiye, the Dominican Republic and Mexico's Riviera Maya. Another Nickelodeon-branded resort is also slated to open in Orlando later in 2026.
