Outrigger Hospitality Group has added a fourth property to its Thailand portfolio: Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort, offering a cultural- and nature-centric stay set within a national park.
Accessible only by boat, guests step off onto a stretch of coastline, surrounded by limestone cliffs that form part of the larger protected boundaries of Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park.
Of the 63 suites and villas, these are split into the hilltop ocean view pool villa, with a private infinity pool and sea views; the beachfront pool villa, positioned directly on the sand; and the family garden villa, sat amidst tropical gardens.
A kids club and teen zone are also available to facilitate multi-generational travel.
Island traditions are a highlight across the resort, including the welcome rituals, inspired by the indigenous Urak Lawoi people who have inhabited these islands for centuries.
Spaces are furnished and distinguished with handcrafted furnishings, organic textiles and woven motifs drawn from the island's craft traditions. Bead-making sessions may additionally be booked.
In the kitchen, chefs follow the Southern Thai culinary approach of "Samrub Thai", built on balancing taste, texture and tradition. This translates to a menu honing into the region’s spice flavours, fresh produce and coastal ingredients, such as the Edgewater Bar & Grill, which serves up seafood alongside aromatic curries. Guests also have the option of joining Thai cooking classes.
Similarly, Zeavola Spa features a menu grounded in Southern Thai wellness practices and local botanicals.
Heading out, the national park presents a thriving biodiverse marine environment that supports a wide range of water activities, such as PADI-certified diving excursions and long-tail boat picnics.
Tonsai Village – Phi Phi's hub of restaurants, bars and local shops – is a short boat ride away.
The opening of Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort joins other sister properties in Koh Samui, Khao Lak and Phuket.
