Andy Tan has been appointed general manager of Varel Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott. The 128-room property, positioned as the brand’s Southeast Asia flagship, is scheduled to open in April 2026.

Currently leading pre-opening preparations, Tan brings more than three decades of experience across the hospitality and travel sectors, including senior regional and global leadership roles spanning Asia Pacific, Europe and other international markets.

Tan most recently served as senior VP, global sales, partnership & operations at Millennium Hotels & Resorts. Previous appointments include roles with Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Beyond his corporate leadership experience, Tan sits on the Board of Directors of the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) and is a member of the Sustainability and Technical Committees of the Singapore Hotel Association.

The multilingual hotelier speaks English, Mandarin, Thai, Malay, and several Chinese dialects.
