Capella Hotel Group has appointed Roland Fasel as president, effective 6 April 2026.
The seasoned luxury hospitality executive joins with more than 30 years of international experience to Capella Hotels and Resorts and Patina Hotels & Resorts, where he will lead the group's global expansion to double the current portfolio by 2030.

Fasel began his hospitality career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in the US before moving into leadership roles across Southeast Asia, where he took on his first GM position with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts.
He was most recently group COO at Maybourne Hotel Group, where he oversaw a portfolio including Claridge's, The Connaught, The Berkeley, The Maybourne Beverly Hills, and The Maybourne Riviera.
Fasel was also COO at Aman Resorts from 2017 to 2023, overseeing the opening of Amanyangyun in China, Aman Kyoto in Japan, and the landmark Aman New York.
Prior to this, he served as GM at Badrutt's Palace in St. Moritz, and was involved in the launch of the Dorchester Collection when he was GM of The Dorchester and regional director UK overseeing Coworth Park and 45 Park Lane.
