Philippines President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has shifted portfolios for former Department of Tourism (DOT) secretary Christina Frasco, who will now lead other national initiatives at the community level.
Tourism undersecretary Verna Buensuceso will temporarily lead the DOT as officer in charge.
In her new role, Frasco has been appointed presidential adviser for sustainable and resilient communities, following the country’s increasing spate of climate-related disruptions.
Marcos thanked the former tourism chief for her service, and expressed confidence that Frasco, who has worked closely with local governments and communities, would continue to support the administration's priorities.
The presidential communications office has denied reports that Frasco had resigned as DOT secretary.
