Etihad Rail has moved onto the final steps – a nationwide rail safety campaign – ahead of launching passenger services later this year.
High-speed services will launch in phases, the first of which will connect Abu Dhabi and Dubai, extending to Fujairah on the east coast.
Spanning approximately 900km, the network will connect 11 key cities, ports, and industrial hubs.
Once fully operational, the service is expected to accommodate around 36.5 million passengers annually by 2030.
Train interiors will feature a contemporary design, full Wi-Fi connectivity, and individual power outlets at every seat.
The service is likely to be favoured by local families and business travellers, as well as international tourists keen to explore the emirates from the comfort of a modern train seat.
